Hunter & Barrel
If you like your meat cooked on a fire, then head on over to Hunter & Barrel.
Tucked away in Cockle Bay Wharf within the CBD, this visceral restaurant is known for plating up quality meats, poultry, and seafood dishes that are roasted over their signature coal grill and spit rotisserie.
A veritable feast for your senses, their crispy prawn tacos make a great entree, but when it comes to the main event it’s hard to go past their ‘feast for two’ which features a delicious selection of meat dishes that include a rotisserie tahini chicken skewer, 1/2 rack of pork or beef ribs, a 200-gram rump and a traditional Boerewors Coil, which comes with a side sauce.
It will set you back about $130 for this two-person extravaganza, but the taste sensation will put you in a happy food coma.

The Gidley
The Gidley is a very special restaurant.
Tucked away in a CBD basement location on King Street, it is one of the only venues in the whole of Australia that serves up spinalis steaks. Which is definitely a reason to go there.
Run by the e Liquid & Larder Group, who also manage Bistecca, the restaurant is accessed via stairs that lead you into a bar and lounge room where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks.
When you have finished them you can enter their stylish dining room, to enjoy a menu of fabulous dishes that includes Riverine Black Angus rib-eye which can be ordered in three different styles.
This could be either as a spinalis steak, a prime rib roast that can be either 700 grams or 300 grams or a classic on the bone, rib-eye that is chargrilled.
