Behold an awe-inspiring spectacle of 500,000 twinkling lights illuminating a 1.8km path as you traverse the Gardens. Marvel at how draping trees are bathed in vibrant hues while you wander between a magical web of luminescent ribbons into a dazzlingly lit tunnel! Lose yourself to the captivating soundtrack as your journey comes alive with illuminating color.
Admire the sight of glowing colors that emerge from the shadows and illuminate trees like a wave of fireworks in motion; take an extra moment to admire waterside reflections or even linger at the serene fire garden full of luminescent laser-like fireflies for a peaceful pause.
Enjoy this unique experience that can be tailored to your interests and schedule, lasting up to 90 minutes. Let’s spend 75 of those precious moments strolling around the city while pausing at various photogenic spots – remember your camera! We’ll have a particular path in mind, but should you want some time away from the crowd, feel free to wander off into one of its peaceful nooks.
Furthermore, the latter half of this journey is steeper. Even though it’s manageable, if you’re debating whether to bring the pram with you, I’d suggest taking it anyway so your children can enjoy being wheeled along while they ascend.

Eating and Drinking At Lightscape
Before embarking on your journey to witness the illuminated Botanic Gardens, make sure to pamper yourself with various delicious meals from the vibrant food trucks situated at the Observatory Gate. From pizzas and pies to Vietnamese street treats like tacos and nachos – you have plenty of options for refueling!
When traveling with small children, however, it’s best to have your meals before visiting Lightscape or even bring a thermos of steaming, savory sustenance for them. The lines at the food trucks can be long and take up much-needed time; parents understand that hungry kids don’t make for good travel companions! So if you plan on having dinner during the show, I suggest preparing ahead, so you won’t find yourself queuing in line with grumbling bellies.
The Lightscape bar offers hot drinks like mulled wine and cocktails if you’re looking for something a bit more robust. Over the 18 kilometers journey, there are various stopping points serving crepes, prosecco, and mulled wine. However, please be aware of the long lines at these locations before making any promises to your kids!
